When shopping for plus size swimsuits, it’s so easy to get discouraged. Sometimes, it just seems like that tent style swimsuits are all everyone seems to be selling. You know for a fact that any woman who is at all interested in her sex appeal does not want to wear the “tent” style swimsuit, especially if sexiness is what she is looking for in a swimsuit. The hope is that there are plus size swimsuits out there which will make any curvier lady look and feel fabulous, as curvy girls can be just as sexy and alluring as any woman. The problem however, is that buying plus size swimwear is not necessarily the easiest thing in the world. There is now a solution to the problem! The guide below is going to go a long way to making it easy and pleasurable to find affordable plus size swimwear.

You have a lot of options open to you when you go to purchase plus size swimwear. The first solution to the problem is quite obvious, and that is to visit a brick and mortar store. But if you live in a smaller town, you may have limited access to the most current styles and it can be harder to find what you like in plus size clothing. Even in larger towns and cities, plus size clothing sand swimwear can be hard to come by. If the brick and mortar stores do not meet your needs, you can always try mail order or catalogs to buy your swimwear. The upside is that it is possible to hold of the most current styles available in the stores as well those that tehy will not have in the stores just yet. The downside here is that even though there are loads of good quality, reputable plus size retailers, they do not all offer mail order and so you could missing out.

When shopping for plus size swimwear, you should consider shopping online. Online, there is huge range of retailers which cater specifically to plus size women. Most of these retailers have no brick and mortar stores which means they can pass on the saving s to their customers. Also, because most online retailers have no physical storefront, they have no space restrictions and tend to hold a lot more styles in stock than brick and mortar stores.

What styles do you choose? For full figured women, the classic one-piece swimsuit, the tankini and the new ‘boy short’ styles are very popular styles. While these swimsuits can suit all women, they tend to be especially well-suited to full figured women because of the potential to mask their problem areas. For example, the ‘boy-short’styles can be amazing for masking things and tankinis can make that flabby belly a bit less obvious. The ‘never fail ‘ piece of plus size swimwear which every curvy woman should own is the one-piece bathing suit, which allows any plus size woman to hide her not so desirable bits and look fabulous when visiting a crowded beach. Pair this particular piece of plus size swimwear with a gorgeous sarong and you’re ready for any pool party!

The onset of summer is a great mood-lifter, but that can quickly turn when it comes to looking for new swimwear.
A report in the Daily Mail indicated that a survey by cosmetics giant, Garnier, had foiund that women were obsessed by their bodies.Three thousand women between 18 and 40 were interviewed with the research showing that 7% thought about their bodies up to 50 times a day with 20% worrying about their shape ten times a day.
Tummies and rear-ends were the parts of the body that women were the least happy with.46% of women who were surveyed said they wanted to be firmer and flatter around their middle, with twenty per cent wanting a better butt. And it’s not just the front and back that gets the thumbs down, 14% were unhappy with their legs, 10% didn’t like their breasts and four per cent wanted to change the look of their arms.
Little wonder then, that most women can’t bear shopping for new swimwear.
However, with new styles from a manufacturer who really understands what the market wants, no woman has anything more to fear.Viva Swimwear, a swimwear manufacturer based in Perth, took cognisance of their customers’ feedback and has designed new styles to flatter every shape.
One of the new styles is a longer length tankini top which comes in sizes ten to 18, and which has gathering up the sides to flatter a women’s tummy area. There are also new style halter tops with soft cups so that women can choose their level of support. This style also enables women who’ve had breast surgery to insert their own pads into the cups.
The colours for the new season include purple, black, white, brown and pink.In the popular chlorine-resistant swimwear range, the new hues for summer include teal and purple. And the new tie-side swimwear bottoms will appeal to younger wearers, especially in the new range of fashion colours.
Viva Swimwear has also upgraded its website to include front and back shots of its swimwear range, so that onlien shoppers don’t have to wilt under the bright lights of the change rooms. That’s customer service for you.
Swimwear can also be matched with lovely wraps and cover-ups.  The best-dressed ladies on the beach this summer will be wearing fashionable cover-ups including kaftans, dresses, tops and pants. And as every woman with a fuller figure is well aware – these have been very difficult to track down. The company offers a large range of unique and desirable cover-ups in sizes up to 26.

No Bummer This Summer – Find Your Perfect Pair of Plus Size Shorts!

It’s not unusual for for many full figure women to try to avoid wearing plus size shorts. That describes me perfectly! For the longest time, the only people I could think of who really looked decent wearing shorts were either athletes or skinny super models. But plus size fashion designers have begun heeding the call for fashionable and affordable shorts and swim suits.

These days, there are a wide variety of brands to select from when it comes to plus size swim suits and clothing. There’s even the option to shop for plus size clothes from special juniors retailers, as well as stores specializing in maternity clothing. Swimwear though, and related summer clothes, seemed to be taking a back seat for a long time. The wonderful thing is that brands including Torrid, Lane Bryant and Avenue (among others) are now allowing us a diverse range of styles for every season and budget.

When it comes to full figure shorts, the most important things to factor (besides fit) are length and style. Because plus size women have more robust figures, which often means wider hips and curvier thighs, the most figure-flattering cut is a pair of shorts that comes to between the mid thigh and right at the knees.  For a summery look without showing too much skin, opt for plus size capris, petal pushers, or cropped slacks.

The most flattering plus size shorts will have a flat front without a lot of embellishments.  Pleats are generally not a good look for those with extra weight in the “pooch” area. Flat panel shorts with simple pockets and clean lines will give you a flattering and stream lined look. A nice pair of shorts will match perfectly with your favorite tops, blouses and tee shirts as well. Plus size skirts are another trendy option. Once again, a longer skirt is the most flattering style.  Mini skirts are not as flattering, so a skirt that hits at your knee or longer is your best option.

So get ready to relax on the beach in fun and flattering styles of plus size bathing suits and shorts!

Finding Flattering Plus Size Swimsuits

Tagged Under : , , , , ,

Most women don’t like to wear swim suits unless they possess what is known as “the perfect body”.  But the majority of the “average” women out there aren’t incredibly toned or model-skinny.  However, we still want to enjoy our time at the beach or by the pool side. Plus size swim suit lines have really done an impressive job recognizing this. These days, there are plenty of wearable, fashionable options for every size and shape.

Plus sized swimsuits are now offered in more and more fashionable, trendy, and stylish choices.  They are designed to offer more support and coverage for the fuller figure. Plus size bikinis are still a bit of a rarity, but the two-piece tankini is a great option.  Adding a pair of plus size shorts is a great way to turn your tankini or swimsuit into a lounging outfit.  Women with a rounder shape absolute deserve to look and feel their best in bathing suits!

Finding something that flatters your natural body curves and size is important. A top with a deep V neckline can offer that subtle sexiness while not being too revealing. Plus size swim suit tops can still be alluring while offering the support that a woman with a larger bust line desires. Halter tops, as well as thicker straps or scooped-neck tops, are very flattering.  With these options, you’ll be able to feel confident and feel great in your bathing suit.

Plus size swimsuit bottoms usually come in briefs, straight and full skirts, and shorts. A skirted style flatters and hides flaws like no other bathing suit bottom.  Pairing briefs with a colorful and stylish swim suit top (such as a v-neck or halter) will give you a fresh and appealing look. Some bathing suit tops are styled more like sundresses, which gives you more options and a flirty look.

The vast majority of women will always have some perceived flaws and figure issues with her body. We can still feel ultra confident and comfortable in our swimwear. Whether a customer is a size two or a size 24, body image and figure concerns are universal. Especially when it comes to swimsuit shopping, women should remember that how they feel is most important of all. Then buy that swimsuit you love, and wear it with pride. There’s no one who can wear that plus size bathing suit quite like you!

The 3 Best Fitting Plus Size Swimsuits

Tagged Under : , , , , ,

With the weather warming up and summer vacation quickly approaching, I decided to go on a quest for the best fitting plus size swimsuit. We all know that swimsuits can be pretty pricey, but I personally am willing to pay the price for something that is not only durable, but figure flattering and stylish. The last thing you want to have on your vacation is an ill-fitting swimsuit since you will basically live in it for however long you are away at your tropical paradise.

Fit is very important to me when shopping for a plus size swimsuit. As a Mother, Wife, and Plus Size Model it is important to me to NOT have all of my “business” showing to the entire world. I look for a swimsuit that I can not only wear from patio to poolside, but one that I can wear to the water slide park or for a day at the beach with the family. Having a couple of different options for different occasions is great, but for those of us who are on a budget we will make 1 suit work for all of the above.

On my quest I visited many different stores in the mall that I know carry plus size clothing such as Torrid, Macys, and JC Penny to check out their swimsuit collections. At each store I tried on a variety of swimsuits and had no luck at all. I just could not find a suit that fit me right and was stylish at the same time. I came home feeling frustrated and exhausted, so I decided to sit down and browse the web for other options. While searching online I found some amazing plus size swimsuit styles that were nowhere to be found at the mall on sites that I knew focused on plus size fashion and sizing.

The first site I sought out was LaneBryant.com and I found the Miraclesuit “Oceanus” one-piece swimsuit for $134.00 available in Black and Ocean Blue. This suit is a classic style and body for any occasion. It features special stretch fabric that gives you extra support and a noticeably slimmer silhouette. You cannot go wrong with this swimsuit!

The second site I visited was AlwaysForMe.com where I fell in love with the Twist Front Bandeau one-piece plus size swimsuit for $79.00 available in a variety of colors. This swimsuit has been featured in a variety of magazines such as O, The Oprah Magazine and is considered one of their top selling swimsuits. This suit has everything I am looking for in a plus size swimsuit. It has full tummy control, shirred sides that help create a curvy waistline, a super cute skirt that provides some coverage but doesn’t make you look like you are wearing a full swimdress, and the halter strap can be removed. AMAZING! This style is perfect to go from patio to poolside at the resort. I also love how easy it is to shop on their site and how much detail they give you on each and every item. You also can shop by your body type A+ to Alwaysforme.com.

Lastly I visited Swimsuitsforall.com I found the Delta Burke “Tigress” plus size halter tankini in brown for $98.00. This suit is super cute and has a high v-neck for good coverage and cinched sides with a drawstring tie detail. This is a great two-piece style and works perfect for an apple shaped girl. Love it!

These are just 3 plus size swimsuits that I found to be the best in durability, fit, and style. I feel that all women of every size and shape deserve to wear beautiful, stylish swimsuits and feel confident. I have to say that for 2009 the plus size swimwear collections are amazing with a variety of choices to fit every shape. So have fun this season, be adventurous, try something new, and always love the skin you are in.
