The British summer is now officially here, and with the British summer comes the festival season (although sun is by no means guaranteed). Whichever festival you are planning on attending this year, it is important that you look the part, and that you’re prepared should the unpredictable British sunshine decide to make an appearance (fingers crossed!).
Fashionable eyewear and summer festivals have always been a good combination, and this year the in-style look is the Lady Gaga inspired retro/vintage look. With trends from the 50’s and 60’s making an appearance this season, the most common looks we’ll see include paisley patterns, prints, and lots of retro designer sunglasses.
If you are heading out to the festivals and want to look in-style this summer, aim for either small, round frames, or go the other direction and get colourful, oversized frames in red, green, blue or brown.
If you’re aiming for a specific brand, my own personal suggestion would be Ray Ban. The aviators are a timeless classic and with Kate Bosworth sporting them at the first American festival of the summer, they’re sure to be a celebrity choice throughout the hotter months. The Ray Ban Wayfarer is also a strong choice for any summer festival. Timeless, incredibly stylish and perfectly vintage, they’ll fit in extremely well in any VIP area at any festival.
If I had to make another suggestion I’d certainly recommend anything from the amazing Police sunglasses range; particularly if you’re looking for that little piece of Lady Gaga inspired magic. Always popular and fashionable, they have recently updated their range and feature some amazing summer sunglasses, perfect for the vintage look at this years’ festivals.
If you’re looking for something a little more current, you could aim for pastel coloured small, rounded frames. This look was incredibly popular on the catwalks this season and will make sure you look up to date and on fashion for the 2010 festival season.
Hope you found this useful, and that you’ll be looking in-style and fashionable this season. Feel free to leave comments and let us know what you think!
