15UGG BOOTS – FASHION FORWARD OR FAUX PAS?
Tagged Under : genuine ugg boots, ugg, ugg boots, Uggs
No-one said fashion made sense, right?
The first rule to remember is that there are no rules….and that’s why it’s OK to wear underwear as outerwear, match animal print with vintage florals and metallics with denim and that’s also why the shuffly sheepskin Ugg boot has found its place as a fashion statement
Whether you love them or loathe them, those snuggly, ugly uggs have worked their way onto the fashionable feet of celebs and A-listers around the world. From old rockers like Ronnie Wood to Hollywood’s glamour girls, Cameron Diaz, Eva Longoria and Reece Witherspoon, the list of devotees of the sheepskin softies is long and varied. Celeb kids are also fans – with happy snaps of Hollywood bubs such as Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’ little Bronx, Calista Flockhart’s son Liam and Gwen Stefani’s little boy making their way onto the fashion pages.
But what do the fashion police really think of people out in the public eye with what basically amounts to their slippers on? The short answer is ‘YES’.
It’s not about what you wear, it’s about how you wear it. Going shopping in your ugg boots and a tracksuit is a fashion faux pas, but if you team them with a pair of sexy slim leg jeans, a fab top, some bo-ho jewellery and a to-die-for handbag…you can hit the red carpet. To get an idea of how to wear uggs fashionably – and how not to wear them frumpily – take your cue from the celeb pics on the internet.
Female feet in sheepskin furries is one thing – but what about the men ? Some say that it’s barely tolerable seeing the fairer sex wearing oversize slippers in public and that real men should avoid them at all costs, whilst others see it as fashionable freedom of expression.
Ugg boots have also found their way into the White House, with US President Barack Obama taking each of his two daughters a pair following his recent tour ‘down under’ to Australia.
Whether you like them or loathe them, ugg boots have carved a place in fashion history.
