He could visualize her delight as she opened the box on her birthday. These were the ones. This was the perfect crystal necklace and the special birthday present he wanted to give Grace on her special day. Beauty for beauty he mused as he smiled on his way out of the store.
She wore rings and bracelets quite often. She wore them with all types of clothes. From jeans to dresses, she always had bracelets on.
But maybe she had all the necklaces she wanted. She could always add one more to her collection he thought. There was one with pale gold stones that seemed appropriate. Gold matched any color sweater he decided.
In one display case, there were countless necklaces. He saw one with pale green stones. Another was the same style but with pink stones. He priced that on because of the soft color.
Next to it was a complex-patterned one made with various sizes of pale blue stones. He did not know how to describe it, but there were many separate stones used to create the pattern. Asking the price, he checked two more.
Zak moved over to the earring display. He looked at two dozen beautiful pairs of rhodium earrings lined up in the case. He asked a few questions about rhodium and the saleslady answered him pleasantly.
He was glad to learn a little bit about jewelry. He hadn’t thought much about it before. As they chatted, his eyes caught sight of the earrings in the next case.
He talked about the special evening he had planned to celebrate his girlfriend’s twentieth birthday. He would take flowers when he picked her up. Then they were going to dinner where they would sit in their favorite booth. He already had the reservations made.
He had ordered a birthday cake to be delivered to their table after the meal. The staff would sing happy birthday for her. The cake was strawberry, not his favorite, but it was hers.
After dinner they would take a walk in the park, unless it was raining. Then, they would go to a movie. He knew one that was playing that they would both like. He was a sensitive guy who knew her taste in movies.
Then his eyes lit up when he saw one certain pair of swarovski earrings. They were substantial and long. He was sure they would look great against her slender neck.
